Originally published in 1933, this Halloween book features the following ideas and suggestions for planning and decorating for vintage Halloween celebrations:
- Fortune Verses -- a page of clever, rhyming fortunes for use
with fortune telling and couple matching games.
- Halloween with Mickey Mouse -- a creative party idea in which
the hostess introduces herself as a friend to Mickey and Minnie
Mouse and gives each guest mouse ears, felt shoes, papercup
nose and white gloves to transform each guest into either
Mickey or Minnie. More party details follow including a "know
thyself" and "cheese, cheese it" games and suggestions for food
and fortunes.
- Spooky Bridge -- this is a party with a play on the game of
bridge where the rules are changed to make it more
entertaining, with a prize for each guest based on the score.
Instructions for creating chair slipcovers, score pad table
markers, luncheon decoration, etc., are described.
- Cat and Dog Party -- decoration ideas and the party theme are
detailed along with a game idea for dog/cat fight, bone
fortunes that eventualy come together to create a skeleton, and
human dog trick performances which end in the choosing of a
dinner partner.
- Children's Halloween Party -- old fashioned games are described
such as bobbing for apples as well as others you may not have
heard of including finding the witch's cat, witch's flight,
jack o'lantern, halloween witch, ghosts and witches with a menu
suggestion and decoration/favor ideas.

- Games and Stunts -- many games with instructions for playing

- Feeding the Ghosts and Goblins -- party menu ideas are listed
including a recipe for cider apple sauce and pineapple mint
cocktail.
Suggestions for decorations and favor making are scattered throughout the book including:
- how to decorate with pumpkins, ghosts, skeletons and black cats

Beginning in 1909 and continuing through 1934, Dennison Manufacturing Company released a "Bogie" book. Each book was filled with colorful examples of party favors, Halloween costumes, decorating ideas, party games, spooky poems and stories. The books were a great source for party planning, each year showing different ideas to match the new products being released by Dennison. They continue to be a great resource for party planning and provide interesting old-time party tips and suggestions.
