Originally published in the early 1960s, this book is fourth in a series of four that will show you how to make both the playful and glamorous hats of the 1960s using premade buckram frames. These hats can also be made by recovering vintage hats in need of repair and/or a color/fabric upgrade as long as you have a structurally sound buckram frame to work with. Twelve hats are included:

- rose petal beret -- the petals spring up above a contrasting
  fabric cuff in full blooming fashion.
- nylon maline turban -- a duet of colors alternate in a nylon
  maline turban styled into a bowl shape.
- daisy sailor -- a sailor with a sunburst of silk daisies light
  up the crown with loose petals softly falling to the brim.
- straw hair braid bumper -- rough straw hat braid bumper
  sprouting blossoms from the top of the crown amid rows of straw
  braid.
- printed beret -- a manipulated beret to be worn off the face or
  across the eye-line with a choice of fabrics including
  velveteen, jersey, wool, silk, suede and leather.
- organza petal half-hat -- clean-cut and made with organza cut
  into loads of petals and worn across the head, forward or above 
  the brow line.
- postilion leaf profile -- a feminized postilion encircled in
  silk leaves that end in a cascade at the side.
- poppy-eyed sailor -- loads of flowers detail this easy-to-make
  sailor.
- striated alpaca toque -- all-tiered up in a flattering shadow
  of stripes and worn with the bow in the back, front or at the
  side.
- straw hair tall turban -- a tall turban with cosmopolitan taste
  showing the suppleness of straw in an interlaced ribbon effect.
