Originally published in 1918, this guide to vintage Independence Day celebrations is similar to Dennison's Halloween Bogie Books, but features ideas and suggestions for planning, entertaining and decorating for the 4th of July including:

- how to make a red, white and blue American shield
- regalia for parades including:
- epaulets
- badge
- bonnet
- boys hat
- woman's scarf and hat
- hat band
- shoulder sash
- collar and cuffs
- mens hat
- arm band
- red/white/blue slip-on meant to be worn over a garment
- hair band
- ideas for decorating cars and floats with an Independence Day
theme (color suggestions can also be changed and used for
Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Sporting Events, etc.)
- hall, rally, convention and booth decorations including
banners, pennants, ceiling and lighting trimmings
- table decorations

Instructions for using crepe -- cutting, pasting, gathering, tacking, winding, making festoons and working with wire -- are included to make your projects a success. This book also includes all of the original price lists for the Dennison Independence Day stock goods (cut-outs, napkins, patriotic crepe paper, lunch sets, table covers, gummed seals, etc) -- perfect for the collector of vintage Dennison ephemera.

Similar to Dennison Bogie Books, this Independence Day book is a great idea source for decorating for parades and adding inexpensive red/white/blue trims to create a special event.
